The best way to explore Ibiza is to hire a car. There are a lot cheap car rental companies available. Use the 12 golden tips below the next time you’re planning to do so.

A quick checklist what you need:

Valid drivers license
Credit Card (Some companies like AVIS doesn’t accept debit cards)
Get a good map of the island. (Autobravo has one for free)

Tips to rent a car in Ibiza:

Inquire about 24-hour roadside assistance; some car rental agencies provide the assistance.
Some companies will pick you up and take you to the car. Ask about pick-up service.
Although most rental companies will try to sell you insurance, your own car insurance may cover a rental car while you are driving it. Ask your auto insurance agent before renting a car and paying for unnecessary insurance. If you don’t have car insurance, however, it is probably wise to pay the extra cost.

Be aware that you are driving in a foreign country.
Drive safe and alcohol free. Especially late at night when the police controls the roads to the clubs.
Check if the car has air conditioning.
Before you go, check the car outside for scratches. Make sure to mark them on the document.

Jeep / Terrain / Land cruiser. If you want to go off-road.
Luxury cars/ limousines: Just cruising .

Take a big bottle of mineral water with you.
Take a cap and sun lotion with a high factor for a good protection. Watch your back and neck.
